Our Mission

Every company exists for a reason. Some computer repair companies are greed machines that take advantage of their customers by grossly inflating their prices to support massive advertising campaigns and executive paychecks.

They also make their technicians wear silly ties. That’s just mean.

We’ve chosen a different approach. Applied Intellect exists for three reasons:

  • to serve our clients’ needs,
  • to support and train the next generation of technological professionals,
  • to serve the community by financially supporting The Geek Group.

This means that you get to save a serious bit of cash by letting us do your computer work instead of one of the other shops in town that operate on “what the market will bear” pricing. It also means that you get the smile from knowing that the money you paid to get your computer fixed goes to helping teach kids about robots and high voltage and all of the other cool things the Geek Group does instead of buying the owner a new Mercedes every other year.

Our Clients

We’re not just technicians, we’re educators. While we don’t exactly give computer classes (though the Group does), we’ll help you learn what went wrong with your computer, how we fixed it, and how to avoid future problems. If you’re not interested, tell us, but we’re here to make it easier for you to stay on top of technology. This is the only computer shop in the world where you as a typical customer can not only walk into the offices, but right back into the tech area as well, pull up a seat at the bench, and talk with the guy who actually did the work. He’ll take you step by step through what’s going on in your computer, show you what needs to be done, how we fix it, what the parts ACTUALLY cost, and everything involved. We’re here to answer any questions you may have. Remember, as part of The Geek Group, we’re here to teach!

Training

AI’s technicians are constantly learning on the job. Besides solving some of your more common computer issues, we encounter new problems every week (”He spilled WHAT on his computer?”). We look at every challenge as an opportunity to learn, and we share our experiences with each other. There’s no competition here- our technicians work together to ensure that your computer problems are solved quickly and efficiently. We price by the Job, not by the Hour. So we can take the time to do things right and not see how many jobs we can cram into a day.

Community

100% of AI’s profits benefit The Geek Group, a nonprofit organization devoted to science and technology. By choosing to do business with us, you’re giving kids the opportunity to learn about science in an exciting, fast-paced environment. (They also think it’s pretty cool to see 1.5 million volts of electricity fly ten feet through the air).

The Geek Group isn’t just for kids, though- visit the web site and see for yourself. If you like it, consider becoming a member. It’s free!
